Xanadu, Inc. is a 501-c-3 not-for-profit charitable organization, incorporated in the State of New Mexico. We received our tax exempt status determination letter dated August 3, 2008. Our EIN is 13-4290572.
The mission of Xanadu, Inc. is to provide and maintain a safe haven, shelter and socialization for unwanted canine animals, on a 12.5 acre piece of land in Northern New Mexico. Part of the Xanadu philosophy is not only to help the animals, but also to provide healing opportunities for humans through contact and work with the animals.

Currently, there are 15 dogs that are being sheltered at Kurukulla. The care and shelter of the animals is maintained on a daily basis, by animal care helpers. Much of the work is voluntary, and volunteer donations of time, cash or in-kind goods and services are always welcome. (View our Current Pets)
Plans for the future include more activities involving human/animal relationships, learning and communication. We expect to develop a reading and meditation room. We plan physical improvements to the site, expanded space, expanded fencing and more amenities for the animals.
